This week’s theme was sports. In language development this week, we read various sports related books, reviewed different sports pictures and vocabulary, colored on paper with crayons, colored on baseball bat cutouts, wrote on foam finger cutouts, and wrote on laminated scoreboards. In cognitive development this week, we counted bowling pins, matched baseball item cutouts, did a stacked ball drop experiment, and matched different colored basketballs. In motor development this week, we fed bowling pins to a paper bag bowling ball, laced a baseball cutout, placed black pentagon pieces on a white soccer ball, and did physical fitness with Coach Charlotte. In art this week, we made a sports wreath by gluing sports balls cutouts on a paper plate, we rolled a ball around in paint, we painted a soccer jersey, and we painted a basketball with Q-tips. This week we all took turns hitting balls with bats outside and kicking balls into cones. Tomorrow we will, write on chalkboards with chalk for language development, sort different sports balls for cognitive development, fill buckets with balls for motor development, and glue tissue paper on a football cutout for art.
