The children have enjoyed this week’s theme of all things Christmas. Monday in art the children loofah painted tress and in language the children rolled a letter die and needed to find the matching letter on their tree. In math the children added gumdrops to a gingerbread house, using a dotted die to determine how many to add each turn. Tuesday in art the children explored splat painting outside by dipping a cotton ball into paint and then throwing it down onto paper…splat! In language the children dictated what they saw outside a window when they heard jingle bells outside, and in math the children engaged in a Christmas bingo game. Wednesday the children decorated Christmas cookies! They spread on icing, and sprinkled on some fun holiday sprinkles, this was a good fine motor experience. In language the children matched lettered ornaments together and in math the children worked with shapes to create pictures with. Thursday was swim day!! The children also explored different kinds of playdough and in math the children engaged in an ornament concentration game. Tomorrow in art the children will apint ornaments and in language they will add letter ornaments to a tree, and in math the children will play Candyland!
