All about me week is a fun week where the children learn more about each other. In art on Monday the children explored crayon resist art where they drew a picture on white paper with white crayon, and then watercolor painted over to see the picture. In language the children traced the first letter of their name with stickers, a good fine motor experience too! In math the children engaged in a matching activity to match body parts. Tuesday in art the children looked in the mirror to draw a self-portrait and in math the children added their family members to a family chart; they are posted in the classroom so check them out! Wednesday in art the children painted with feeling face stamps and in math the children matched color people counters to the matching color house. Today in art the children bingo dotted their names and in math the children replicated family photos. In language on Tuesday, Wednesday and today the children have been working on their all about me books to draw pictures and dictate things about themselves like their favorite color, food, toy, song, and activity. Tomorrow in art the children will paint with paintbrushes and in language they will dictate why they are special. In math the children will practice writing, or tracing numbers. The children also worked with small animal beads to practice their stringing skill. The children have also been reviewing the rules of the classroom areas to help them take care of materials and show responsibility for the classroom environment.
