Aarggghh Mateys! It is time to walk the plank…just kidding. But this week was all about pirates! The children worked on some fun activities this week as we pretended to be pirates. At the language table, the children worked with Pirate letter writing, rhyming words, letter find and coming up with other words that start with the letter P. At the math table, the children worked on number recognition, a memory game, measuring and making patterns with gems. At the science table before working on a pirate puzzle, the children tried to get the gems out of the mini treasure chests. It was baking soda mixed with water in an icetray and once frozen, the children used their fine motor skills to use an eye dropper to put some vinegar on the treasure chest to get the gems out. The children showed their creativity at the art table this week where they made a pirate hat, pirate ship, their very own pirate and a treasure chest. We will end this fun week with Miss Mel and music class. Oh! Let’s not forget our playground renovation has began. We have been watching the men saw and place the wood to create steps on the hill for us to play on when done. We enjoyed talking like pirates, finding treasure and wearing eye patches this week and plan to have more fun next week with a different theme. We hope you all have a wonderful and safe weekend! As always…GO BROWNS!!
