It is Pirate week! Monday in art the children marble painted flags and in language the children did name writing practice. In math the children add treasure to a grid using a die to tell how many to add. Tuesday in art the children cut and glued pieces of red to add to their pirate flag. In language the children matched treasure letters to a treasure map and in math they engaged in a pirate bingo activity. Wednesday the children explored fine motor materials: squeeze balls, pop balls, and fidget toys to wind and pull . In language the children rolled a letter die and then wrote the letter on paper. In math the children engaged in a pirate eye patch concentration game. Today in art the children glued together a pirate ship and in language the children answered questions like what one treasure would you take from the treasure box, or what would be your job on the pirate ship, and so many more! In math the children played a mouse color match to find the color mouse that matched the color cheese. Tomorrow in art the children will explore painting and glitter and in language they will dictate: If I were a pirate. In math the children will play a short path game to get the boat to the treasure. In the sensory table this week the children explored water with boats and people, and we added boats to the block area too!
