This week’s theme was artists. In language development this week, we read various books, did an art gallery walk and talked about different artwork, we connected letter connectors together to form letters, we talked about different art terms (shapes, lines, colors, etc.), we “traced” our names, and we matched letters. In math this week, we matched pictures of artists, manipulated letter magnets, matched colored paintbrushes, and manipulated math tile. In motor development this week, we hopped on different colors, played with a parachute, stacked sound and shape sorters, played Ring Around the Rosie, and manipulated lacing boards. In social and emotional development this week, we talked about our favorite colors, and read a book about crying and practiced deep breathing exercises. In art this week, we painted a “mural” with our friends, made sculptures with play-doh, did a spot painting using bingo daubers, and made abstract paintings. Tomorrow we will play I Spy and write on boogie boards for language development, count colors in math, play balloon volleyball in motor development, talk about different family members in social studies, and take pictures of “landscapes” with a camera.
