This week is Pets. We talked about what sorts of pets we can have and we also talked about what kind of animals we cannot have as pets. We know cannot have a lion in our house because he could eat us! A monkey isn’t an ideal pet because they are mischievous and will get itself into trouble like Curious George! We also talked about why some people do not have pets. The children said some people may have allergies, some may not like animals, and the person’s place may be too small to have a pet. We talked about animals rescues and why they are so important.
We made a Pet word list, practiced writing pet names, We read the book, A Ball for Daisy by Chris Raschka and its a book where it only has picture with no words. The children were able to tell the story in their own words, We reviewed uppercase and lowercase letters, and we did a Four Letter Match and Spell activity.
We made a graphing chart where we charted who had which pet and then we tallied up the numbers. The most pets that we have are dogs. The children sorted the animals by water, land and air. They used the colored blocks to practice counting to 28. We did an activity where we compared numbers by trying to figure out which number has the less, more, or equal.
We started Circus practice this week with PreK and the children are starting to learn their acts and they are so excited to show off their skills! Keep an eye out for the Save the Date!
We were able to get outside and play this week. Please make sure your child is dressed according to the weather. We know that Ohio weather is constantly changing!
