We introduced the theme with naming various bugs, being gentle with bugs outside and no stepping on bugs, songs, books and various activities related to bugs all week.

Monday- cup stamping to make a rainbow
Tuesday-Beehive- glue yellow tissue paper and honeycombs
Wednesday-Firefly- glued colored tissue paper
Thursday- Pom-pom caterpillars
Friday-Worm- cork stamping with rainbow colors
Math
Various activities and materials were provided all week that are bug related allowing the children to work on their early math learning by counting, making patterns, identifying colors while using counting Caterpillars boxes one-to-one, Beehive counting with yellow shapes, counting bugs with bug catchers and tongs, frogs on a log by color and group time activity “How many dots does a Lady Bug Have”?
Motor Development
Stringing cheerios with yellow pipe cleaners to build finger strength and manipulation, Yellow play-doh with rigatoni noodles for pressing and pushing, firefly bugs with jars and hand mini scoops, foam stringing shapes with shoe strings and Friday we will pretend to “milk a cow”.
