This week was all about the bunny, jelly beans and the most important…chocolate! We did some patterning and counting with plastic eggs and jelly beans. For some language activities, we found eggs around the room and then opened them up to identify the hidden letter. We also wrote letters in a tray with one finger to copy the letter we saw on a paper egg. At group, we played many games together. We had names written in eggs and had to give clues as to who’s name it was and then guessed the friend! We also played “Pin the nose on the Bunny” and find the bunny behind the carrots. The sensory bin has been filled with Easter grass, plastic eggs, and small bunnies, chicks and eggs. We were busy sorting items and pretending we were the Easter Bunny making deliveries. The science table had a large basket of eggs. The idea was to use the magnetic wand and find out which eggs were magnetic, and which were not. Our drama area had bunny ears for dressing up and doing some pretend play. We had many discussions of how people around the world celebrate the upcoming holiday. Some go to church, some find eggs and some visit with family. No matter where you live, we wish all of you a happy and healthy weekend. Outside, we had an amazing week of weather! We got lucky and were able to go out each day, even when there were rumbles of rain or thunder. We cleaned up more of our garden and finally got around to changing out our class bird feeders in the back. We chalked and wrote our names, and of course, the space theme has never really left us… a drawing or two of the planets made an appearance on the ground so we could pretend to take a trip to the moon, too!
