This week’s theme was gardening🌼, and our classroom bloomed with exciting hands-on learning experiences!

🌿 Language Development:
We read a variety of garden-themed books and explored gardening words and pictures. The children worked on name puzzles, colored flower cutouts using scented markers, and wrote on paper using different shades of green.

🌸 Math Development:
We practiced counting and sorting with vegetable counters, matched colorful flowers, sorted pompoms into flowerpots, and grouped flowers, fruits, and vegetables into their designated garden spaces.

🐛 Motor Development:
Gross motor fun included hopping on garden cutouts and playing a game of “garden tag.” For fine motor skills, the children fed pompoms to their caterpillar crafts (made from toilet paper rolls) and placed flowers into strainers.

😊 Social & Emotional Development:
We rolled an emotion die, acted out and discussed various emotions, and enjoyed playing “Ring Around the Garden” together as a group.

🎨 Art:
Our creativity blossomed as we painted with dirt, broccoli, flowers, and even apple halves—turning natural materials into beautiful works of art!

Looking Ahead:
Tomorrow, we’ll play “I Spy” for language development, use shape sorters in math, water plants with real watering cans for motor play, and care for baby dolls during our special baby doll circle time in social studies. We’ll also create a vibrant flower collage in art!

🌼 We’ve had a wonderful time growing, learning, and playing together this week!
