I cannot believe that Summer Camp is over! It went by so fast! I hope that your children had fun this summer! We made friendship bracelets and necklaces, made pictures for friends, made different things with friends, and we read books with our friends. They talked about keeping in touch and they hope they can have play dates during the school year. They made new friends while still having the friends they already have. It was so sweet to see them include the new children into their circle of friends.
We did a water play day where the children had fun playing in the water, splashing water on friends, and ran in the sprinkler. We went to the Justice Center where one of our parents is a judge and she showed the children what the courtroom looks like and what the courtroom does. She explained to the children that they have rule while adults have laws to follow. She did great explaining in terns that they would understand. They met public defenders, district attorneys, court reporter, bailiff, and they got to see the different parts of court that the public does not see. The children loved seeing it all! They asked me if they could do it again next year. We finished off our last day going to Lakewood Park where we were able to play a little bit despite the rain and cold weather. This did not stop us from enjoying hot dogs, watermelon, and cucumbers! We play games while we were waiting out the rain and we had so much fun! Sadly, we had to come back a little bit early because it was getting a bit too chilly for the children.
We did our lemonade stand and it was a hit! The children had so much fun selling lemonade and they had asked me if they could do it next year. We raised enough money to purchase books for the center. They decided that it would be better to buy books for the other children to enjoy. This was so sweet of them! We are so proud of the school agers for thinking of others.
We enjoyed having your children in summer camp and we hope that they come back next year. Good luck, schoolagers and have a great school year! For those not returning, we will miss you and hope that you come back and visit us!
