Wel,l as our Back to School theme comes to a close, we have had to say goodbye to two of our toddlers and welcome to two new families and their babies.  It is always exciting when new babies join our classroom and become a part of our family.  Our older children this week dropped cars down our large cardboard tube, colored and fingerpainted, explored nesting cups, and dropped rings into small containers.  Our younger babies watched bubbles, tried their hands at stamping, shook sensory blocks, and played with baby dolls.  All are exploring the toys and moving around the room in their own way while learning to sit, crawl, stand, and roll over.  They have listened to books from other countries and some about numbers and letters.  Music has been on to practice movements to or just to dance around the room with their teachers.  We have hidden toys under washcloths to see they will look for them and many are more excited about the washcloth itself!  Many are working on clapping their hands for the first time and they are so excited to do so so we give them as many opportunities to do so throughout their days.  It has been a week of new experiences for some and we can’t wait to show our new babies a warm welcome as we introduce them to so many fun times ahead.   Our current children are there to experience it right along with them as we give them new, exciting, and fun ways to learn.
