Hola! Bonjour! Ciao! This week was all about Around the World. We began our week by discussing what it means to be Around the World and one of our friends said, “Going to different places!” From there we dove into the world of how children live around the world. We watched a video on different lunches around the world as well as different classrooms. We concluded that many classrooms around the world are smaller than ours and don’t have the areas that we do. For the lunches, many countries around the world eat pretty well! Some places serve fish like salmon and other places serve kimchi and our friends notice that many countries serve desert with their lunch. From there the children worked on their writing and alphabet recognition skills at the language table. At math the children worked on different number recognition activities. The children became creative making their own serape blankets with water colors, Henna art, world rip art and paper fans. At the science table the children worked on building pyramids with paper cups. We had a busy and fun week with two field trips under our belt. Our first field trip was to the fire station where the children got to explore the truck and learn about the equipment. Our second field trip was to the Beck Center to see Bringing Down the House. We worked with the children on buckling and unbuckling themselves. Please let them practice in their car seat buckling and unbuckling themselves because this will come in handy when summer starts (I know it seems far away but it will be here before we know it!) We also introduced the letter of the week which was Ff. We read the Ff book and came up with words that start with the letter. To end this fabulous and busy week, we will have Miss Carly from the Beck Center with music class. We hope the children enjoyed themselves this week…more fun next week for Halloween!!
