This week’s theme was weather ⛅and we explored clouds, rain, sunshine, and seasons through stories, experiments, art, and play!

🗣 Language Development
We read a variety of weather-themed books, reviewed words on our weather vocabulary board, drew clouds with white crayons, matched weather cards, and dug for letters in the sensory bin, building literacy skills through fun and hands-on activities.

🧠 Cognitive Development
Our budding scientists counted raindrops, made clouds in jars, sorted weather counters, and compared sensory tubes showing the changing seasons, learning how to observe and compare.

🏃 Motor Development
We got moving by jumping on raindrops taped to the floor, drawing “clouds” with shaving cream on the windows, playing catch with balloons, and using tweezers to pick up cotton balls, strengthening both large and fine motor skills.

😊 Social & Emotional Development
We talked about our feelings and compared them to different kinds of weather, like feeling sunny, stormy, or calm, helping the children connect emotions to real-world concepts.

🎨 Art
Our little artists made colorful paper plate umbrellas, painted fluffy clouds with puffy paint, used yellow paint to represent the sun, and decorated paper with crayons and stickers, bringing the week’s theme to life through creativity!

✨ Looking Ahead to Tomorrow:
To finish our week, we’ll:

  • Language: Write on boogie boards
  • Cognitive: Sort weather pom poms
  • Motor: Do weather movement activities
  • Social Studies: Talk about what we wear during different types of weather
  • Art: Cut out snowflakes

It’s been a bright and breezy week full of learning, laughter, and discovery! 🌦️💛
