Lakewood Child Care Center

We are family!! This week was all about our families. We started off the week by discussing what a family was. Let me tell you, our pre-k friends nailed it! We had answers such as people who we live with, people who love us, people who help us and people who stick together. We also took a step back to discuss that as a pre-k class, we are also a family- we are together each day, we help each and the other difference is…we don’t live together. This week the children worked on number recognition and patterning at the math table, played some family BINGO, wrote family words and learned to say some family members in Spanish. At art, the children drew their family members and created a house out of craft sticks. The block area has been a big hit this week….the children have been interested in the construction across the street so we turned our block area into a construction zone with trucks, rocks, piping and wood pieces. We also continued our alphabet with learning about the letter Jj. We will end this fabulous week with our annual Thanksgiving feast and with Miss Carly on Friday for music class.
