It’s artists week and while we stay nice, warm, and cozy in our classroom, our children have been busy learning, exploring and discovering. Peg boards, music mats, discovery boxes, and ribbons have been out to explore. They practiced dropping items into juice bottles, stuck tissue paper to contact paper, and watched our electronic aquarium with all of the different colored fish. All of the babies enjoyed watching bubbles and puppets sing songs and tell stories. The older children have tried coloring and painting, which all love to create their own masterpieces. Balls have been everywhere throughout the room and they have been rolled, tossed, and explored. Rings have been dropped into small containers and they used those rings to mark on our tablets. One piece puzzles have been mastered and sensory bottles gave them all a chance to hear different sounds which they were able to make on their own. We are working on mirror recognition with body parts and singing songs with everyone’s names in it to aid in friend recognition. There has been a lot of developmental progress toward sitting, pulling up, rolling, and eating. It has been a week of inside play but we have been busy doing so much! Next week, we celebrate the island life with our luau theme, hope the warm vibes work their way outside!
