The theme was introduced each day with a different Author, and book. A brief fact about the Author was discussed  and hung up on the word board.

Art

Monday- Audrey Wood Napping House- glued various pieces to make a house

Tuesday- Pete The Cat- stamped buttons on yellow paper

Wednesday- Eric Carl- Brow Bear, Brown Bear- stamped with brown paint and bear cookie cutters

Thursday- If you Give a Dog a Donut- painted paper plates pink and added sprinkles

Friday- Mo Williams- Made a pigeon- paint and glue materials

Math

Various math materials were provided all week to practice number recognition, counting, space and patterns. Number foam puzzles, Bingo shape and color buttons for matching, sort bears by color and size, number cookie counting with boxes to name numbers and learn new numbers, and number magnets with magnet boards.

Motor Development

Manipulative materials were provided all week to practice and strengthen fine motor skills. Pom-pom shoot tubes with pom-poms to roll down the tube, button lacing with shoe strings to challenge and strengthen  grips and manipulation, bear sticks with play-dough to poke, make stand and work hands and fingers while making various shapes or rolling, and small fruit counters with fruit bowls and spoons for scooping .

Sensory

Colored rice, shovel, bears, bracelets, colored people

Bear Toss with colored bean bags and bear box
