This week, we talked all about the women in our lives that mean the most…our moms, grandmas, aunts and even a non-relative that makes us feel loved and who we love back! We started our week with making gifts for those special people. We also made paper crowns and colored pictures for those we love most. At the math table, we built with “flower” pieces and counted and sorted each flower. We “made” some “muffins” for mom (because “muffin compares to you, mom!”). We put small manipulatives in a muffin tin, according to the number on the bottom of the pan. For language, we answered questions about mom (we were shocked at so many moms weighing 10 pounds!)…see our window for a giggle! We also worked on spelling words like mom, grandma, aunt and gigi as we used our small motor skills to trace those words with small gems. Our sensory bin has been filled with so much ribbon! There are so many textures and lengths in there! It was fun to see how the boys and girls could get creative with ribbon! We got outside so much this week! We are so lucky to be able to utilize two different areas here at school. The playground is more for running, climbing and building. We do more digging and watching construction out on the patio. We are anxious to explore neighboring parks next month! The Circus is coming to town! Next Friday, we will be performing THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH! We having been so busy practicing for the big day! We hope all of you can make it! A BIG Happy Mother’s Day to all our moms, grandmas and special women that make life a little easier with your gentleness and caring. We appreciate you and all you do! Here’s wishing you a day of love, relaxation and whatever makes you happy!
