It has been a week about superheroes and in our room, that could mean doctors, policemen, their parents and grandparents, and other important people in our community.  The children have had the opportunities to listen to puppets representing these people as well as playing with our little community helper people.  There has been a lot of outside play where they are learning to get on and off bikes and then trying to move them forward.  The older children have been building with different types of blocks, tossing balls and bean bags into a laundry basket, attempting to pull yarn through a hole at the top of a coffee can, exploring one and two piece puzzles, and coloring as a big group.  The younger babies have been practicing holding and shaking shakers, playing peek-a-boo with scarves, and learning new ways to move and reach.  We have read some fun books, watched bubbles, and played with a parachute, by either helping holding the handles or lying underneath it.  It has been a week where the focus centered on the people that love them as well as the important people that take care of us all!  Next week, it will be all about the water and what lives in it and we have our first swim day!
