It’s been a week all about those creatures that live under the sea and they have had a lot of fun discovering them. They have watched our electric aquarium light up while “fish” swim across the screen and played with plush fish in and out of their bowl. We have given them the opportunity to hear stories and songs about these animals Our older children tried using stamps depicting various sea animals on them on paper and some are still working on using crayons on paper to make marks and scribbles. The teachers used a flannel board to sing the song Five Little Fishes and then gave the children the opportunity to take the fish on and off the board themselves. They have watched bubbles, explored bean bags and sensory bottles, and played outside. They younger babies have been busy reaching, watching, and interacting with other children and their teachers. The weather is now warm enough to get everyone outside and enjoying the views that outside brings and leads us to start swimming this week so tying in the water play to this week’s theme will tie up the end of the week nicely. Busy and excitement filled have been the best ways to describe this week and leads us to next week where we will celebrate our daddies and grandpas as we have a week leading up to Father’s Day.
