Beach balls, swim suits, playing in the sand…all things that describe Summer! This week was all about the season of summer. We started off our week with discussing how we know it is summer time outside. We came to the conclusion that we know it is summer when the sun is out and it is hot. Of course when you can go swimming as well. This week we worked on letter recognition and writing at the language table. We played our favorite game…BINGO! At the math table, we worked on counting and number recognition skills. At the art table the children created all the yummy treats we eat during the summer time…Popsicles, watermelon and ice cream! In the sensory bin, we brought a bit of the beach to the classroom. The children played with some kinetic sand and had mini tools to make sand castles, etc. We had two fun field trips this week which were Rocky River Beach Park and Huntington Park. We hope the children had fun bringing summer into the classroom even if it hasn’t shown outside. More fun to be had next week!
