This week’s theme was Farm! We explored different farm animals and talked about the sounds they make, where they live, and how they help people on the farm. The children also enjoyed learning how to say the names of different farm animals in several languages. It was exciting to hear them practice the new words and compare them to the ones they already knew.
Our farm-themed crafts gave the children an opportunity to use their creativity and fine motor skills. They had fun making paper bag cows, creating colorful kaleidoscopes, and coloring and assembling dinosaur crafts. Everyone enjoyed showing off their finished projects and sharing them with their friends.
The children also had Art with Ms. Joanne, where they experimented with oil pastels and created beautiful spinning art. They loved watching the colors blend together and seeing how each piece turned out differently. It was wonderful to see their creativity shine and their excitement as they admired one another’s artwork.
We were finally able to have water play, and the children were thrilled! There were lots of smiles, laughter, and happy squeals as they splashed, played games, and cooled off with their friends. Water play is always a favorite activity, and the children did a great job sharing the space and taking turns with the toys.
We also enjoyed a trip to Rocky River Park. The children had fun climbing and exploring the playground, playing Sardines and Minnows together, and taking a relaxing walk through the park. We stopped along the fence overlooking the water, where everyone enjoyed the cool breeze and took in the beautiful view before continuing our adventure. To end the week, we went bowling at Fairview Lanes and had lunch together at Bohlken Park. The children had a great time cheering one another on, celebrating every roll, and practicing good sportsmanship. After bowling, everyone enjoyed eating lunch outside and spending more time together before heading back.
We also painted rocks this week that we plan to place around the community for others to discover and enjoy. The children were excited to create something that could brighten someone else’s day, and they took great care decorating each rock with colorful designs.
It was another week full of learning, creativity, laughter, and friendship. We are so proud of how the children continue to grow, explore new experiences, and support one another each day. We look forward to another exciting week of fun and learning together!
We are looking forward to another exciting week of summer adventures! Next week, we will be taking field trips to Bradley Nature Park and the Great Lakes Science Center, where the children will have the opportunity to explore nature, discover new things, and continue learning through hands-on experiences. We can’t wait to make more wonderful memories together and share all the fun with you in next week’s blog!
