What a fun-filled week we had!
We started the week with Water Play, and everyone had a blast staying cool and enjoying time with friends.
Next, we visited the Beck Center, where the children explored a variety of fine arts, including Visual Arts, Music, Dance, and Theatre. They learned a new dance, played different musical instruments, created beautiful tree art using puzzle pieces and tissue paper, and discovered how actors use their voices in different ways to express emotions. Afterward, we headed to Kaufmann Park for lunch and a special treat. A big thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Costello for providing popsicles for everyone! Your kindness made our day even sweeter.
We wrapped up the week with a trip to the Botanical Gardens, where we enjoyed exploring the beautiful flowers, playing in the Children’s Garden, and visiting the upstairs play areas, including the beehive exhibit. We ended our adventure with lunch at Wade Oval. It was a wonderful week filled with exploration, creativity, and lots of fun!
Our theme this week was Christmas in July, and we enjoyed many festive activities. The children decorated gingerbread people dressed in summer clothes, made paper airplanes, created bracelets, and drew pictures. During Art with Ms. Joanne, the children experimented with special markers that created unique designs on both paper and fabric. They loved seeing the colorful effects!
We are also beginning the second half of our Kindness Project, where the children are learning how to help others through acts of generosity. We are collecting donations for the Lake Erie Nature & Science Center, a wonderful organization that offers free admission to visitors while caring for local wildlife. The children wanted to give back to an organization they enjoy visiting and help support the animals in their care.
As we continue to focus on kindness, we have been reminding our School Age friends about the importance of using kind words and kind hands. We have been having daily conversations about treating others with respect, making thoughtful choices, and being good friends. We appreciate your support in reinforcing these important values at home as we work together to create a caring and respectful classroom community.
