We are celebrating Christmas in July! The block area has been very busy with children working together to build, create, and use their imaginations with trains and train tracks. It is the favorite area this week!

In art, the children had so much fun decorating ornaments, painting with bottles, decorating stockings with pieces of wrapping paper, and making their own Christmas trees. In math, the children practiced counting and adding onto gingerbread houses, sorting, matching, and number recognition.

In language, they worked on letter recognition on Christmas trees and wreaths, writing, and participated in putting together cut up pieces that turn into a picture!

The sensory table has also been a favorite so far with green crinkled paper, pasta noodles, tongs, bowls, and where the children explored different textures while building their fine motor skills.

On Tuesday, our H2O Friends came for a special interactive visit. Wednesday will be a festive spirit day, where the children got to wear red and green. Thursday is swim day, which is always a favorite activity for the children. To wrap up our Christmas in July celebration, the entire daycare center will come together on Friday to decorate cookies, and Coach Charlotte comes, which makes for a fun and memorable end to the week.
