It is sports week and a fun filled week so far! In art this week the children have painted basketballs, painted with combs, they explored dot art on white circles and tomorrow they will cut black circles and glue to white paper. In math the children worked with a 1 to 1 correspondence grid using small sport ball erasers. The children matched domino patterns to the matching pattern on a football, they matched baseball shapes and explored a ball bingo game. In language the children matched letter basketballs to a hoop, they found letters to match their names written on a volleyball shaped plate and they traced letters with the sport ball erasers. Tomorrow the children will engage in a position word activity. In the sensory table the children have been practicing cutting and we added brick foam blocks from the great room to the classroom. The classroom, as you have noticed also went through a redesign yesterday. The children were excited to help move some things around and are enjoying the new set up. The children have also enjoyed learning about all the different sports they were not so familiar with, and they watched some videos of these fun sports such as gymnastics, synchronized swimming, diving, pickleball, and swim relays.
