Did you know that Legos originated in Denmark? Did you know that Legos are one of America’s favorite toys? Well, Pre-K boys and girls know all of this! We have had so much fun this week, playing with Legos, patterning and counting them, too! One of our favorite activities has been adding a Lego to one build each time we had group. We have been working on one creation all week to see what it ends up to be on Friday afternoon. For art, we made Lego mini-figure heads, first with paper and then we painted a small jar yellow and added a face to have our own Lego head to collect small Legos and trinkets! We used Legos at math and language this week, too! We got so creative with all the Legos (and Duplos) we played with all week, and never tired of them! The sensory bin was also filed with small Legos and we had waiting lists to play there. Our swim day was so fun as we filled up the pools, and used buckets of water to paint the walls and ground (that seems to be the popular activity and it keeps them all busy for hours!). Tuesdays field trip was to Impett Park. We didn’t let a little rain ruin our fun. The climbers were a big hit, but the zip line was top notch! On Thursday, we went to the park in Avon Lake for the morning and then walked over to the Avon Lake library to the Discovery Zone! We could have spent days there, but unfortunately we had to come back to reality! We will wrap up our Lego week with more Legos, more builds and lots and lots of fun!
