We had lots of transitions and orientations, but we made it through! We had our first official day in Pre-K with all of our friends! We have 26 enrolled in the class and we have a full house most days! It will take some getting used to, but we are looking forward to a fun-filled school year! On Monday, we made a special Pre-K magnet to hold all of our new artwork! We also made some beautiful chalk drawings and a paper fish to say “we are o-FISH- ally a Pre-K kid!” We practiced our glue rules and will wrap up our week with more art on Friday. For language activities, we found our name cards, recognized letters and wrote our names. We also played with letter magnetic tiles. For some math, we incorporated some number tiles, numbers on a bus and add the people and we also sorted and patterned with crayons. Our sensory bin has scrap paper in it and we have been working on scissor skills there, too. We had lots of story times and read books all about what pre-k is all about. We also spent a lot of time outside as we had some beautiful almost-fall weather. We look forward to getting to know each other more next week as the theme is “All About Me!”. Be sure to bring in your picture books so we can see and get to know all of you and your family!
