We started the week with new friends and helping them learn all about the classroom, the rules and the many areas to play. In art this week the children painted with koosh rings, they explored cutting and gluing, painted with paintbrushes, explored finger painting and tomorrow they will work with bingo dot markers. In math the children worked on sorting animal counters by color, sorting people counters by size and the last 2 days they have been incorporating fine motor work as they did some stringing with small foam beads and they counted them, Tomorrow the children will engage in a path game to get the bus to the school! In language the children traced their names with foam shapes, they matched letters to their name card, they dictated what their favorite part of school is and matched letters to a backpack. Tomorrow they will practice writing and/or tracing, school themed words. In the sensory table the children have explored water with cups, funnels and bottles. The children love the new drama set up and the dress up clothes. They also enjoy pretending to wash the clothes in the dryer.
