A great time of year to learn about construction as we see it everywhere right now. The children have enjoyed this theme and share a lot of what they know through their play in the block area with tools and hard hat props. Monday in art the children painted with cars and in language they practiced writing construction words. In math the children played a community helper lotto game. Coach Charlotte came and brought her friend Coach Libby and the children did various movements with balls on the patio. Tuesday in art the children painted with rollers and in language they dictated what construction is. In math the children played a community helper concentration game. Wednesday in art the children painted with hammers and in language they shared what they would build and how. Today was swimming day, and oh so much fun! The children also engaged in a construction bingo activity and a tool matching activity. Tomorrow in art the children will explore playdough with scissors and in language they will engage in a hard hat letter matching activity. In math the children will share what their favorite flavor ice cream is and we will graph it. This week in science the children explored a lever and a pulley and in the water table the children worked with tools and bottles.
