We introduced the theme with a short  pirate video song, books, dress up clothes/eye patches, walking the plank, treasure hunt, treasure maps and various related pirate art and activities.

Math

The children practiced early math activities through various activities all week. Sorting pirate hats by size, counting treasure coins by placing in boxes one at a time, number and letter magnets to practice recognition, and counting number flags/naming number and dots on the flag.

Motor Development

Treasure chest with gem and tongs,  stacked small and large pirate cups for balancing and eye hand coordination, gems and egg cartons with tongs, colored ABC blocks- small and large to build and balance, and pirate lacing cards with shoe strings.
